UC Davis Young Scholars Program
June 25- August 5, 2017
Current 10th and 11th graders interested in doing scientific research with college professors and graduate students. Program expenses include room and board, meals and materials, but scholarships are available based on need. A nonrefundable application fee of $25 is required. Students wishing to request a waiver for the application fee should contact program director at jrpomeroy@ucdavis.edu prior to submitting the online application. High School Summer Institute in Law @ UCI
This week-long experience led by distinguished UC Irvine School of Law faculty in a law school setting is designed to equip students with knowledge, understanding, and skills that will benefit them as they continue their education and chart their future- to perform better in high school, prepare for college, and explore a possible career as a lawyer. There is a cost for the program, but scholarship applications are available for low income students. Youth in Government Day
The 2016 Youth in Government Day program that is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, April 26, 2016 at the Downtown Anaheim Community Center, 250 E. Center Street, Anaheim, 92805, from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The theme for the 2016 program is “Helping Today’s Youth Explore Future Careers”. Educational workshops will focus on how the City of Anaheim can assist today’s youth in preparing for tomorrow’s careers. Click here for an application.

Anaheim Youth of the Year Award
Nomination forms now available for Anaheim's Youth of the Year award. Applicants must complete an essay answering why they deserve to be youth of the year and should have completed 100 hours of community service by March 31, 2017. Interviews will take place April 24, 2017.

UCI STANLEY BEHRENS FAMILY FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP
This is a four-year renewable scholarship that will provide $2500 annually. This scholarship is only open to students who will attend the UC Irvine and that have graduated from an Orange County High School. Must be U.S. Citizen or permanent resident, 3.5 minimum GPA and family income can not exceed $110,000. If awarded the scholarship, students will be required to do community service (90 Hours) and maintain a 3.0 GPA.

CHICANO LATINO YOUTH LEADERSHIP PROJECT
Open to 10th and 11th graders. Great opportunity to develop leadership skills, debate public policy issues, connect with public officials, network with fellow student leaders and learn about the college application process. AUHSD Summer Film Academy
This is an internship opportunity for current AUHSD 11th and 10th grade students that will help them develop filmmaking skills, create short documentaries, and receive college credit. Spaces are limited and students must be available June 5th-June 30th, Monday-Friday, 9am-1pm

Junior Health Scholar Program, St. Mary Medical Center in Long Beach.
Open to students (ages 16-18) interested in all pre-health professionsl. Students have the unique opportunity to work as a member of the patient care team within the hospital setting. The program exposes students to a variety of health care career options and helps foster an understanding of the fast-paced healthcare environment prior to committing to a career in the field. As an added bonus, participating students will have access to the COPE Health Solutions 19,000-member alumni network for mentorship and career guidance opportunities. Camp L.E.A.D.
Camp L.E.A.D. (Leadership Education and Development) is a leadership training and personal development program at Texas Tech University. The program is designed for students entering their senior year of high school (current 11th graders). Camp Cardiac
Camp Cardiac is a 1-week summer day camp open to all high school students (including Spring/Summer 2016 graduates) at least 15 years and older as of first day of assigned session. Although Camp Cardiac’s primary focus is on care and maintenance of the heart, it provides an excellent starting point for careers in all fields of medicine. Applications open February 10, 2017. Scholarships available.

MISS program
California State University, Fullerton (CSUF) sponsors an exciting program called the “Mathematics Intensive Summer Session” (MISS). The purpose of this program is to assist college bound young women to enhance their mathematics skills. MISS is a four‐week commuter program, which will begin on Tuesday, July 5, 2015, and end on Friday, July 29, 2015. Students will attend six hours of mathematics class daily, Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 3:0 0 p.m. Applications and teacher recommendation available in the student center and in room 48.

Frenchtown Fire & Rescue Resident Firefighter program
Frenchtown Rural Fire District in Montana offers a Resident Firefighter program to young men and women who will graduate from High School and are motivated to help other and serve their communities. Participants will have the opportunity to purse a degree at University of Montana or Missoula College. All trainings and certifications are provided free of charge in exchange for a two year commitment to the program.
